Why did you decide to work in Japan?

Because I wanted to continue living in Japan even after graduating from university.

Why did you choose your current company?

Because the company was planning to expand its business overseas in the future.

What kind of work do you do?

I work in sales. My main work is bidding for projects and handling medical-related projects.

During job hunting, what did you promote as an international student?

I promoted my language ability, leadership, and positive personality. Specifically, I talked about being able to use four languages (Chinese, Korean, English, and Japanese) and my experience planning events during a seminar camp.

What was difficult during job hunting?

I was doing several part-time jobs while job hunting, so it was difficult to manage my schedule. It was tiring both physically and mentally. I could not change interview dates, so I talked with my store manager and asked my co-workers to help adjust my shifts to avoid schedule conflicts.

Were there any effective ways to prepare for job hunting?

Yes, getting advice from senior students and the university career center was very helpful. At the beginning of job hunting, I did not know what I wanted to do, so I only applied to large companies. At that time, a career center advisor explained the advantages and disadvantages of large companies and small to medium-sized companies. That helped me think about what type of company suited me. I also received information about companies where senior students had found jobs.

Is there anything you would like to do in the future?

I would like to try new hobbies.

Please give a message to international students who will do job hunting in Japan.

Do not say "This is good enough." Even if it is difficult, think carefully about what you really want to do and which company you want to enter, and keep trying until the end.
